ur congratulations go to Clare Valley’s Kirrihill Wines, following their excellent results in the Dan Murphy 2021 Decoded wine awards.
The Decoded awards are for wine lovers, not experts and seek to present the very best Australian and NewZealand wines available from the most comprehensive wine retailer in Australia. The awards remove confusion around great tasting, excellent value wines by grouping wines by styles and price and when it comes to results, stripping back confusing tasting notes and instead focusing on why the judges loved the wines.
From a field of over 1000wines Kirrihill were award two, of only fifty, coveted finalists positions. The Kirrihill Regional Selection Riesling was called out as “Amazing Value. Mid-week wine.” While the Kirrihill Regional Selection Shiraz was admired for being “Smooth. Lively. Dark but sweet.” Both fantastic results for Kirrihill as it continues to overdeliver against more pricey wines – the most expensive finalists being over $100 a bottle and the average finalist costing over $23.
“It’s such an honour to be recognised in the Dan Murphy’s Decoded Wine Awards. We aim to produce consumer friendly wines full of flavour which over deliver in value, and to be selected is quite an achievement”. - Andrew Locke, Senior Winemaker.
Kirrihill Wines are available here at the Swift + Moore Shop, from Dan Murphy’s and leading Australian liquor retailers.
Young Gun Of Wine has recognised our friends at Matriarch & Rogue as one of "Australia's Best Tempranillo".
